One of my favorite artist and should be one of yours too. His beats are easy to vibe to and lyrics are naturally relatable. As a female I look for a different type of music, real music. If I cant relate or understand what the artist is saying, then I find it hard to become a fan. On Dat Piff, a user, jnrbig, summed it up, “im happy he acually saying something instead of just spittin to spit like these new so-called rappers.”
When I first started using twitter, @Translee started following me, but I had never heard of him. I followed him back and caught a link he tweeted to “Tip My Hat.” It was love at first beat… (corny?) After that, I followed and listened to all the music he posted and watched his YouTube videos with ColliePark. Not only is he lyrically dope, he is freaking funny!
WHO’S TRANSLEE, 22 tracks and all exceptional. Everything from crunk like “Hell Yeah” to chill beats like “Morning Sun” to spoken truth like “Does Anybody Love”. A few of my favs were ones he sampled from familiar artists like “GONE Remix” (The Weeknd), “Dont Settle For Less” (Miguel), and “Music Never Dies” (Amy Winehouse).
Unfortunately I have not been able to catch a live show due to the fact he is a Huntsville, Alabama native, performing mostly in his hometown and ATL. Please believe when the opportunity comes available I’M snatching it up!
