When I first started listening to Drake I wondered what the connection was with him and Aaliyah. He used lines from her songs like “I gotta watch my back, I’m not just anybody” from her song “Are you that somebody” in his verse on the “Bedrock” Young Money collab. He also used her vocals from “At your best” in his song “Unforgettable”, even putting it out there saying “Since I saw Aaliyah’s precious life go too soon, She deserve the credit for how I’m about to get it” in “We’ll be fine”. Aside from his music, he has tweeted that he is and was her biggest fan… yeah, we know it’s real now.
